Baptisms & Christenings

Start an amazing journey.

We are delighted that you are considering having your child baptised. Following Jesus’ example, we love to welcome children and shower God’s blessing upon them.

Having a child often prompts people to re-evaluate their lives and to consider the sort of environment they want their children to grow up in. It can also stir our spirit to seek after God and this is a wonderful opportunity for parents and godparents to explore and grow in their own Christian faith too. As a church, we want to equip you and help you to remain faithful to the important declarations and promises that you make at your child’s baptism (also known as christening).

To register your interest in having your child baptised, please contact the parish office (01242 580022 or HERE) They will take your contact details and send an enquiry form for you to complete with further information.

Baptism is a sign of belonging to the church community so it is important that you get to meet and know the clergy and others members of the church family before making a decision. So we invite you to come along to a morning service at either St Mark’s or St Barnabas. You will then be invited to the next Baptism Introduction session in an evening or on a weekend before undertaking further preparation.
