We’re really excited to be welcoming at least 30 children and young people to the ‘Miracle Mystery Tour’ performing arts holiday club on Monday 4th August.
We have full creative timetable of activities lined up for them:
-
Begins with some dramatic warm-ups led by the Everyman Theatre, and then there will be a selection of taster workshops in music, street dance, drama and puppetry before cooling down once more with the Everyman team.
-
We’ll introduce the ideas for our final production and do some preparation beginning with some improvisation based on parables. We’ll learn a selection of songs and then there will be a choice of workshops in which children will prepare a performance piece of either music composition, puppetry, street dance or acting in scripted scenes.
-
Will give us time to rehearse what was learnt on day 2 as well as arranging a couple of crowd scenes and choreographing movements to opening and closing songs. There will also be time to make some props and prepare other incidental items for the productions.
-
Will be dedicated to rehearsing for the evening show, running the whole production a few times and practising the individual items.
At 4.30pm we will be joined by Frederick Afrifa, a 2025 BBC Apprentice candidate and ex Olympian athlete, who trains people in public speaking and does motivational talks in schools.
The children will stay for dinner on Thursday and then there will be time for one final rehearsal, joined by the Community Choir, before the doors open for the show at 6.30pm for 7pm start.
